Policies & Safety Guidelines

Please review the following policies carefully before registering. By enrolling in HanOpera programs, you acknowledge and agree to abide by these terms.

These policies are designed to provide a safe, respectful and professional learning environment for all students, parents and faculty members.
01
Safety
Classroom Location & Safety
  • Our classroom is located on the second floor. Parents should accompany younger students to the classroom entrance.
  • Wide hallway railings present potential safety risks; students must refrain from climbing, leaning, or rough play along the railings.
  • HanOpera is responsible for student safety only during scheduled class hours inside the classroom. Once class ends or the student leaves the classroom, parental or guardian supervision resumes.
02
Learning Environment
Parent Access
  • To maintain a focused and respectful learning environment, classroom access is reserved for enrolled students and authorized staff only.
  • Parents and guardians may wait in designated waiting areas and may be invited to observe during evaluations or special events at the teacher’s discretion.
03
Arrival & Dismissal
Punctuality & Late Pick-Up
  • Lessons begin promptly at the scheduled time. Late arrivals do not extend lesson time.
  • Parents are expected to pick up students on time after class.
  • A late pick-up fee of $20 per 10 minutes will be charged, starting from the end of class time.
  • Repeated late pick-ups may result in suspension or dismissal from the program without refund.
04
Attendance
Absence & Make-Up Policy
  • If a student will be absent, a “Time-Off Request Form” must be submitted in advance through the Contact section or by email.
  • Due to scheduling and operational reasons, group classes do not offer make-up lessons. Missed classes are not refundable.
  • For 1-on-1 lessons, please refer to the “1-on-1 Lesson Cancellation & Adjustments” section below.
05
Enrollment
Trial Lesson Policy
  • Trial lesson fees are non-refundable.
  • If the student enrolls in a program, the trial lesson fee may be applied toward tuition for that program.
  • Each student may receive one trial lesson per program.
06
Performance
Competition Registration & Accompanist
  • Students are responsible for their own competition registration fees and piano accompanist fees.
  • If a student advances to subsequent rounds, accompanist fees apply again for each additional round.
07
Finance
Tuition & Payment Policy
  • All tuition is due one week prior to the first lesson date of the semester or program.
  • To enjoy any discounted pricing, payment must be completed before the published discount deadline.
  • Students joining in the middle of a semester pay prorated tuition without package discounts.
08
Finance
Late Tuition Payment
  • Tuition not received by the due date will incur a late fee of $10 per day until the balance is paid in full.
  • HanOpera reserves the right to suspend lessons, rehearsals, or performance participation until all outstanding balances and late fees are paid.
09
Finance
Refund & Cancellation Policy
  • Refunds are available until the first weekend of classes. Class fees for sessions already attended will be deducted from the refund.
  • After the first weekend of classes for each semester, tuition becomes non-refundable.
  • Stripe processing fees, competition registration fees, and accompanist fees are non-refundable.
  • Refund amounts are calculated based on the actual amount paid.
  • The cancellation time is determined by the timestamp of your successfully sent cancellation email to office@hanopera.com.
