HanOpera Students Excel at NATS Competition

The 2025 NATS Texoma Classical Voice Competition (Texoma Area covering Texas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico), one of the most competitive and influential classical vocal events in the United States, has concluded with impressive results for HanOpera’s International Competition Class.

High School Girls Division – Outstanding Achievements

In one of the toughest divisions of the entire event, all three HanOpera high school singers advanced to the Championship Finals. Among hundreds of talented competitors, our students stood out for their artistry, preparation, and stage confidence.

Renee Tse earned 4th Place in the High School Lower-Class Women’s Division, a remarkable accomplishment and a reflection of her musical growth and professionalism. (The top five finalists in each division received on-stage awards.)

Scientific Training and Dedicated Coaching

Led by Dr. Yixuan Han, Artistic Director of HanOpera, Dr. Shengjie Liu, collaborative pianist and coach, and Mr. William, voice instructor, students received comprehensive artistic guidance—from repertoire planning and vocal technique to performance preparation. Their disciplined work and focused training led to confident performances and well-deserved recognition.

HanOpera’s International Competition Track (VF Package, C Package & CP Package) provides science-based, personalized training that integrates vocal technique, performance practice, and artistic development. The program prepares students to perform at their best on professional and international stages.

The IAMA and HanOpera are thrilled to announce a special masterclass featuring Dr. Carol Wilson, distinguished soprano, vocal professor at the University of North Texas (UNT), and Yale University alumna.
Dr. Carol Wilson is a celebrated figure in the world of vocal performance and education. As a prominent faculty member in the UNT vocal department, she has nurtured and guided numerous aspiring singers to achieve their full potential. 
This masterclass offers a unique opportunity for singers of all levels to learn from Dr. Wilson’s vast experience and expertise.

Once again HanOpera students have demonstrated their exceptional talent and rigorous training at the recent National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) DFW Vocal Competition. Their outstanding performances across both Musical Theatre and Classical categories resulted in numerous accolades, with Dr. Han receiving the prestigious Outstanding Teacher Award.

In a remarkable achievement, all students from HanOpera Music Academy have swept the awards at the prestigious Clara Schumann International Vocal Competition! This extraordinary feat is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our students, teachers, and parents.

The competition, renowned for its rigorous standards, attracted talented young musicians from around the world. Our students, armed with exceptional vocal skills and a deep passion for music, showcased their abilities and emerged victorious in their respective categories. This complete sweep is a testament to the high-quality vocal training provided at HanOpera.

This outstanding achievement is a result of the collaborative efforts of our dedicated faculty, supportive parents, and most importantly, the hard work of our talented students.
