How the Competition Pathway Works
Instead of “signing up for a random contest,” HanOpera guides students through a clear, step-by-step path — from building foundations to standing confidently under professional lights.
Audition & Placement → CP Program
Students audition for the CP Program so we can understand their level, voice type, and goals. We then place them into an appropriate CP group.
CP Program — Focused Preparation
Students strengthen vocal fundamentals, learn competition-appropriate repertoire, and practice basic performance & audition skills.
C Program — Advanced Competition Training
Selected CP students are invited into the C Program, where they receive advanced coaching, mock auditions, and strategic preparation for specific competitions.
Real Competitions & Long-Term Growth
Students are recommended for suitable local, national, and international competitions, while continuing to build healthy vocal technique and artistry.
C Program — Vocal Competition Course
A selective competition training class open to students who complete the CP Program. C Program students receive targeted coaching and structured opportunities to enter competitions.

Vocal Technique

C Program — Vocal Competition Course
- Who it’s for: Selected students who have completed CP Program or demonstrate equivalent readiness.
- Purpose: Provide intensive training for specific competitions — from repertoire choice to stage presentation.
- Training: Detailed musical coaching, character & text work, and advanced stagecraft, including entrances, bows, and interaction with the pianist.
- Mock Performances: Regular in-class run-throughs designed to simulate real competition conditions with comments from faculty.
- Competition Planning: Teachers help families choose suitable events and timelines so students are never “rushed to the stage.”
- Mindset Coaching: Learn how to handle nerves, accept feedback, and grow from each performance experience.
C Program enrollment is by teacher recommendation; spots are limited to keep coaching highly individualized.
CP Program — Vocal Competition Preparation
- Who it’s for: Children & teens who already love singing and are ready to train more seriously for future competitions.
- Admission: By audition only. This ensures a focused, motivated group and allows us to place students at the right level.
- Focus: Building solid vocal fundamentals, learning competition-friendly repertoire, and developing basic stage confidence.
- Format: Weekly training that combines small-group work and individual coaching time.
- Outcome: Students who complete CP successfully may be invited to enter the C Program for advanced competition training.
- Parent Communication: Regular updates and recommended competitions based on each student’s readiness.
Limited CP seats each term. Students may be placed on a waitlist when the program is full.
